Not tech savy enough today to know how to insert the photo, but this is the reading challenge Jane set and I blogged about back in January I think.
Anyway, I finished the Thomas Jefferson Education. I liked it, I'm trying to use some of the ideas from it in my homeschooling (primarily journaling and discussion with a mentor of things read/learned). Of course, the end of February, March, and April all got thrown out of the window with my cousin's wedding and her moving out of our house and into her husband's house. We're still trying to recover. Life is very different without another adult in the house.
Anyway, I've tried to get back on track. I spent a lot of time reading pure fluff, mostly junk romance. And I'm back on track.
I'm still trying to work my way through my sci-fi addiction of Battlestar Galactica follow-ons. But it's slow going. Usually too tired to open the book. Wish I had them on my kindle reader, I'd get them done (I'm on book 4 or 5 but I'd love to be done... I want to know what happens!).
So, my list. I have many of the books on my list in my private library, and picked up How to Read like a Writer. It's a fascinating book that makes me wish I'd been better at reading my assigned readings in high school and college English classes. So many things I could have already read. Not sure if I'll ever actually write something. But I'm really enjoying this book, and think I probably have to read at least one book by this woman. If she writes fiction as well as she writes non-fiction I'll enjoy her writing immensely!
However, this book is in-depth and not a quick read because it is so complex. So, while I keep reading on it, I'm going to also start Redwall. I'd like to read that one fast so I can finish up my pile of Redwall books that I borrowed from a friend. I think she might like them back.
