Book Challenges

Apparently there's this thing called a book challenge. My friend Jane was talking about them on facebook today. She even has a blog all about it her reading, with reviews and everything. WOW how do people find time for this stuff. One of the challenges she linked to is a TBR challenge. TBR is To Be Read. Oh dear. I think if I went into *that* pile I'd be reading a LOT this year.

Now I'm feeling pressure to go check out the pile. I've got a friend who's friend wrote a book and my friend wants me to read it with her. And then there's the stuff I'm supposed to be reading to/with my children. I guess I need a challenge of my own.

So, here's my challenge for myself (cause no one will read it on this blog). I'm going to read a minimum of an hour out loud to the children 4 days out of 7. I'm going to read a minimum of 2 books a month for myself (one for my yet-to-get-started book club, one from my TBR list - they're going to overlap most months since my yet-to-get-started-book club is run by moi). I'm going to take my kids to the library every week to check out new books to read. And, I'm going to list my TBR list here. YIKES!
