Yes, We're geeks. We love it!

Mr Top Gun is a "space guy."  He once thought it would be great to get into NASA and fly on a space shuttle. While I'm sure it would have been "cool" I'm glad he never did. However, it means that we're pretty keyed into space "stuff."  So, Here's the Final Voyage of Space Shuttle Discovery. This first vid is the launch two weeks ago.

Here we have a video of the crew preparing for their de-orbit burn. Basically the shuttle gets up there and is going so fast that it stays in orbit. For the burn it flips over and flys backwards, fires it's engines for two mins or so and then flips over again facing forward. Firing it's engines while facing backwards slows it down enough to allow it to essentially fall with style to the earth (aiming at Kennedy Space Center).

Here's the final landing of Space Shuttle Discovery. This SO COOL. And Sad at the same time. Both of us remember watching the very first shuttle lift off back in school. An end of an era. Be prepared for more videos when STS-134 goes up in April and the last ever shuttle mission, STS-135 in June.
